NaNoFiMo
I hate to admit this, but I've somewhat lost the momentum gained from doing NaNoWriMo. I have been working on the book, but mostly on disentangling plot points. I find it hard to write without some kind of blueprint. I start worrying, I think. I know that some writers feel that they can muddle through, but not me. I think it's because my plots tend to be quite convoluted -- mysteries often are, especially these days when readers are so sophisticated and quite honestly jaded by all the special effects and twists and turns of movies. It's hard to pull a rabbit out of a hat and surprise a reader. One has to work extra at it.
I found out about this site call NaNoFiMo yesterday. It's dedicated to finishing or nurturing the 50,000 word draft developed under NaNoWriMo into a full-book length work of 80,000. Check it out.
Now, I must go over to CrimeSistahs and make my debut contribution there. It'll be short but sweet!
