Elaine Viets

I just found out that mystery writer Elaine Viets has had a stroke. When I moved back from Europe three years ago and made my first tentative attempts to reach out to the mystery community, Elaine was one of the warmest and welcoming of people. This lady had a big, generous heart, a sharp wit and terrific style. I'm relieved to hear that she came home from the hospital today. Doctors say she'll recover, but she has a long road ahead of her. In the meantime, the mystery community to which she's given so much, is offering it's support.
