Whew!
So the kids have safely arrived in Munich. After Mom and I got back from JFK last night -- late, late, late -- I made some real estate related phone calls and then I collapsed in bed. I guess I was more worried than I realized about the whole thing of getting them to the airport and seeing them off.
I slept like a log, but somewhere, deep down, an inner clock was ticking. I woke up bright as a bean at 5:35 am, just about the time they were walking through their father's door. (Munich is six hours ahead of us, so 5 am our time is 11 am their time.) I nearly jumped out of bed to phone them (actually, I did, but then I realized just how neurotic that was). Instead, I contented myself with checking the airline's website to make sure, darn sure, that the plane had landed safely (giving into neurosis, a teeny bit.) Then, I actually phoned my daughter on her cell phone (giving into neurosis, a whole lot more). Five minutes later, the Dumpling called to tell me how happy and safe they were. It was great to hear her cheery little voice. God, I'm so happy they're happy!!!!
Oh my, am I nuts or what?
