Audiobooks & Character Studies

To the right is a copy of the UK Edition of The Blue Religion. I was notified of it by Bev Vincent. He also gave me the heads up about our stories appearing in audio book form. Yea!

I finished reading Chapter Six of Darkness and the Devil Behind Me this morning. I'm quite proud of myself for having done so. One of my ideas about self-promotion was to make an audio recording of the book and upload a chapter a week to Podbean and iTunes. Well, I got through exactly two -- did you hear me, people? -- only two chapters before Distraction triumphed. Two weeks ago, I actually sat down and managed to read another two and a-half chapters before something happened.

It isn't the reading that's difficult, actually. It's the editing. I make so many mistakes that on average it takes me twice as long to correct the recording as it does to make it. Each chapter runs to about 15-20 minutes. It's my fond hope (fantasy) that people will be so engrossed by my telling of the story, that they'll say, "Oh, let's forget this waiting an entire week to hear the new installment. Let's go buy it right now!" Wouldn't that be nice?

Last, but not least, I've been working on the character studies for Darkness and the Devil Behind Me. I did three of them this morning. After doing a little postwork on them, I hope to upload them to my website this evening.

It feels good, real good, to be back at work on my book and its attendant business.

Thank you God.

Unwelcome Message

Oh, my! What are you doing here? Obviously, you took a wrong turn on the great information highway. No one reads this blog, absolutely no one, for good reason. It's simply the musings of a writer. Goodness knows, there are plenty of those around, most of them more interesting than this one. So move on. Go on. Shoo!

Still here? Well, if you must stick around, then do be quiet. Make no comments. Don't send out little alerts and invite your friends. This is my place and you're in it. You're welcome to take a seat in the peanut gallery, but don't utter a sound. Not a peep.

Don't let me know you're there. Or else.

About the Author

None of your business. You're not supposed to be reading this, remember? Consider what curiosity did to the cat. You're being curious and that's not good.

Go Away!

Try reading about Sara. She just signed with a big literary agent. Unlike me, she might be kind enough to tell you how she did it.

Don't you have something better to do?

Why don't you go here and learn how to make money online, or here and learn something about men? House is right. You're a nitwit.
